Bye, Bye Utility Shower

One of the last major demolition aspects of the basement buildout is the removal of the original utility shower in the basement. I guess utility showers were somewhat standard in 50′s construction of houses with basements. Though it probably wasn’t totally necessary to remove the original shower, we really wanted to because the new shower will be a little different. Besides, the walls of the shower had numerous coats of paint that would’ve needed to be stripped off. This way, we’ll have a clean slate to work with. This project took a lot longer than we had anticipated. The concrete was as hard as a rock and we wanted to remove whole blocks so they could possibly be reused in future project. Colby got a really good workout today!
