Less Copper, More Muddin’

This past weekend, we finished replacing the last of the original copper water line that fed the hot water heater. It was a pleasure to replace this because it was beginning to leak around all of the fittings to the hot water heater. The hot water heater was installed in 1994 and surprisingly, it’s in very good condition, but the copper plumbing to it was in very poor shape. That completes 98% of all of the plumbing replacement in the house. The only copper left is about a 15 foot section that enters the house from the foundation. Hopefully, we’ll get this replaced in the next couple of weeks. Lenora also put a second coat of “mud” on all of the walls and ceiling in the utility room. We hope to start sanding on it this week so we can concentrate on painting and getting our refurbished cabinets back in place. We’re really wanting this room complete by winter.
