Photo Filled Day

Today, Colby and I took on a couple of projects that needed to be done around the house. First, was the removal of the old eave of the garden shed. When they built the shed, the eave/roof hung over the wall way too far, about 2 and a half foot. Over time, the over hang developed a sway that allowed water to pool on the roof and not drain properly. This led to a couple of rotted places in eave that needed to be replace. So we striped the shingles back 18 inches and cut away the rotted eave. We managed to salvage the gutters, but we’re going to have to purchase a new drip edge and gutter holders before we can get the gutters back up. Now the roof/eave only hangs over the wall about 8 inches. Hopefully, this will solve the pooling problem. We also put together a new fire pit that we’ve been wanting to do for over a year now. We’ve got the perfect place to put it, just hadn’t gotten around to it yet. Now, we’re looking forward to giving it a test drive Friday night.
