I guess that since we’ve closed on our new house that I could just put aside all of the trials and tribulations that we experienced over the past 7 months or just forget about them altogether. But I can’t. I promised myself that I’d follow thru on some of those issues and to find a way to ensure that this never happens to us again or to somebody else. I’m going to start by contacting our state and federal representatives again in an attempt to get a simple question answered. On December 22, 2007, I emailed 8 state and federal elected officials and posed this simple question to them: How come identity theft is a crime, but false credit reporting from Equifax, Transunion and Experian isn’t? And 4 months later, I have not received one single reply. I wonder why this question is so hard to get answered. I guess I’ll try again.
